When the journey never ends… An exclusive interview with Mark Dytham, co-founder of Klein Dytham Architecture
In what was meant to be a three week trip, Mark Dytham, a British architect who loves architecture‘s ability to connect people, create content and transform cities, visited Japan for the first time. He completely fell in love with the country and extended his stay.
That was 25 years ago.
Klein Dytham Architecture was shortlisted at the World Architecture Festival for its project „Ginza Place“ in the category Completed buildings (subcategory Mixed-Use). The festival kicked-off today and will run till Friday, November 17th. The 11-story building is situated on the most important crossroads in Tokyo. Inside, there are retail stores, coffee shops and restaurants. The goals of Klein Dytham Architecture were to express the energy coming from Ginza crossroads and to merge the new building with its surroundings.
The next challenge for Mark includes modern technologies. He would like to distract people from their screens long enough to notice the world around them. Watch Mark Dytham's message from the World Architecture Festival 2017 in Berlin:
